In the Land of Maharajas
On December 5, the UPJ office was opened in Calcutta. It was headed by Stephen Bardy, who had previously worked for the Liverpool University Press. The potential of the Indian publishing market is huge. And it is going to grow. Over the past year alone, scientists in India have published over 200,000 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals. In 2018, Indian scientists submitted over 5000 manuscripts to UPJ journals. A significant part of the manuscripts came from professors of the University of Calcutta.
